  • Moëze-Oléron National Nature Reserve covers a wide space between the island of Oléron and the mainland. On the mainland, former saltmarshes are surrounded by salty meadows and wet grasslands . on sea, mudflats rich in invertebrates are used by shorebirds at low tide. By virtue of these high quality feeding areas, the Nature Reserve is home to thousands of wintering and migratory birds.
