Pierre Loti's House is certainly the most unusual and original 19th century building in Rochefort. A naval officer and writer, Loti brought back numerous souvenirs from his many trips around the world (wall hangings, decorations, momentoes, etc.) gradually transforming the house in which he was born into a museum. The Renaissance Room, Gothic Room, Turkish Room, Arabic room, and Mosque transport visitors to a magic, exotic world, back to the Middle Ages and the Orient - as interpreted by this travel writer's vivid imagination.
Th house is currently closed for renovation, but discover this amazing house in 3D at the Museum Hèbre de St Clément.
