  • In 1666, King Louis XIV chose Rochefort to build an arsenal. In this epitome of a seafaring town, goldwork seemed a natural option.
The workshop was opened in 1995, following a close collaboration with the Rochefort municipality and the Lycée Jamain (the only school training students in goldwork).
Sylvie Deschamps, with the prestigious "maître d'art" title, and her co-workers welcome visitors to a unique site that is only open to the public on reservation.
You will have the chance to see a wide range of skills: hand embroidery, speciality goldwork, and Luneville and fancy embroidery (contemporary art, interior decoration, military, liturgical, heraldic and ready-to-wear embroidery).

Guided tour on tuesday only. Reservation requiered.
