    - Ile du Liron: It is one of the 10 ‘remarkable slopes’ identified in Charente-Maritime. A slope is a sloping area generally situated on the flanks of a
    small hill or on the edge of a plateau. On the Liron hillside, there is a type of grassland known as ‘calcicolous’, meaning that it grows on subsoils composed of limestone. These areas cannot be cultivated because their soils are dry and stony and the slopes are often steep.
