Bookbinding Workshop Open House

This year, Annabelle Gerin is celebrating the fifth anniversary of her workshop specializing in bookbinding and the restoration of antique books. To mark the occasion, she is opening the doors to her world for heritage enthusiasts, book lovers, and anyone curious to discover exceptional artisanal craftsmanship.

Come meet this passionate artisan and take a behind-the-scenes look at a craft where precision, patience, and creativity come together to breathe new life into old books. You’ll discover the different stages of bookbinding, the restoration techniques used to preserve antique books, and the traditional tools used daily in the workshop.

To enrich this event, the bookbinding associations ARG and ARAS will be present on Thursday, June 25. Their members will showcase their work, share their experiences, and engage with the public around their shared passion for books and the arts and crafts.

Demonstrations, meetings, and discoveries will punctuate this day dedicated to the transmission and preservation of our written heritage. A wonderful opportunity to better understand the importance of these crafts, which help safeguard the memory of books for future generations.
