Ciné-concert

A programme of three black-and-white silent short films.

- *The Battle of the Century* by Clyde Bruckman and Hal Roach, 1927, running time 17 minutes.
Laurel must face a formidable opponent in a no-holds-barred boxing match. A short while later, a new battle takes place in the street, involving cream pies.

- *Liberty* by Leo McCarey, 1929, running time 20 minutes.
Laurel and Hardy are two escaped convicts. After getting rid of their prison uniforms, they realise they’ve swapped trousers by mistake. They find themselves at the top of a skyscraper under construction, where swapping trousers and regaining their freedom is no easy task.

- An Eye for an Eye (Big Business) by James W. Horne, 1929, running time 18 minutes.
Laurel and Hardy go door-to-door selling Christmas trees in the middle of August. They get into an argument with an unenthusiastic customer and gradually wreck his house, whilst he dismantles their car piece by piece.
