GRANDMA’S ASHES is an all-female power trio formed in 2017. With an explosive live show that challenges preconceptions, the band elegantly draws us into their world, dominated by heavy guitar riffs underpinned by a rhythm section that is as effective as it is intricate.

Their polished compositions alternate between quiet passages, clear and delicate vocals, instrumental sections and furious singing… proving to any potential critics that they have mastered their craft and fully embrace their sound… even breaking away from traditional rock conventions.

Warmly welcomed into the network of French SMAC venues, GRANDMA’S ASHES have also caught the attention of bookers at prestigious festivals such as Hellfest, Motocultor and Les Francofolies.

Committed and passionate musicians, the poetry of their lyrics carries the message of a generation plagued by doubts, sounding the alarm on the erosion of rights and environmental degradation.

Part 1: VOODOO QUEEN [ STONER FUZZ ]

Drawing inspiration from acts such as Kyuss, Planet of Zeus, King Buffalo and Valley of the Sun, the musicians in VOODOO QUEEN are all from La Rochelle. Blending several musical styles and driven by Fabiola Thoreau’s powerful vocals, their compositions draw on a certain 1970s tradition, navigating between the warmth of fuzz blues rock, the heavy sounds of stoner rock and the raw energy of heavy rock.
