Trained at the Paris Conservatory and soon to join the most renowned national and international companies, these twelve dancers of the Choreographic Ensemble take on the works of three great names in contemporary dance this year: Leïla Ka, Robyn Orlin and Angelin Preljocaj.

Created in 2020, C'est toi qu'on adore is a piece by Leïla Ka, a choreographer from urban dance, who is now collaborating
as well with the National Ballet of Chile as Beyoncé or Zaho de Sagazan. Her breathless play features heroines who are in turn invincible or vulnerable, bearers of an irrepressible drive for life. Inside this impetuous score with electric gestures, they affirm a powerful dance of resistance, which sounds like a cry of hope. Robyn Orlin will then offer the Ensemble a new creation. Known for her committed approach, the South African choreographer explores the social, political and cultural realities of her native country through her works, with a critical eye combining humour, visual poetry and hybrid performances, which will be found in this new opus. To close this danced triptych, the young troupe of the Paris Conservatory will perform Empty moves, a work by Angelin Preljocaj, director of the National Choreographic Centre of Aix-en-Provence. Inspired by John Cage's performance Empty Words at the Milan Opera in 1977, the piece decomposes and recomposes movement continuously, and in doing so questions the notions of repetition, tension and randomness.
