European Heritage Days at the Hôtel Cordier

Built around 1856 on the site of an 18th-century residence, the Hôtel Cordier is one of the finest examples of Rochefort’s eclectic architecture. Although it has served various purposes throughout its history, the building boasts a striking courtyard façade and still contains some interesting decorative features. Today, it houses the Gironde Estuary and Pertuis Sea Marine Nature Park and the French Biodiversity Agency, following a restoration project in which heritage preservation was taken very seriously.

This exhibition presents the audiovisual record of a 1,400 km walk exploring the coastline. Between 5 April and 11 July 2025, the artists from the ExSitu collective, Fanch Dodeur and Barthélémy Péron, explored the coastline of the Gironde Estuary and Pertuis Sea Marine Nature Park to create a multifaceted, methodical and sensitive portrait of this borderland.
