Although it has served various purposes throughout its history, the building boasts a striking courtyard façade and still contains some interesting decorative features. Today, it houses the Gironde Estuary and Pertuis Sea Marine Nature Park and the French Biodiversity Agency, following a restoration project in which heritage preservation was taken very seriously.
