European Heritage Days at the Lucien Grand drinking water production plant

Step into a secret world where raw water is transformed into tap water. To shed light on the challenges facing water in Charente-Maritime, a bold and immersive visual world transforms the site into an interactive family experience.

During your visit, you will discover the exhibition space, dedicated to water management and its uses, the educational laboratory, featuring the plant’s original control panel, where you can operate and monitor the stages of water treatment; the technical viewing platform, offering a bird’s-eye view of part of the production facilities and allowing you to follow the water’s journey; and the quiz room, where you can compete against each other in an immersive TV studio-style setting and try to win the ‘Potable Award’.

Factory tours are available for children aged 6 and over.
