  • To mark European Heritage Days, come and explore the Île Madame Fort, which is open to the public on this special occasion.
    The Île Madame Fort, built in 1704 to defend the Rochefort arsenal, is owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral. It has become a protected area rich in flora and fauna.
    Guided tour of the fort; from its terrace, enjoy an exceptional view of the Charente estuary and the ‘ceinture de feu’.
