Estuary Walk:
Set off to discover the remarkable landscapes and heritage sites that make the Charente Estuary and Rochefort Arsenal a ‘Grand Site de France’. During a 5 km guided walking tour with commentary, local enthusiasts will reveal aspects of the village of Sou-bise that are closely linked to the Charente Estuary: its medieval history, the landscaping projects at the Jardin des Convergences and the Vallon de la Fontaine des Morts, and the various ways of crossing the Charente....Estuary Walk:

During a 5 km guided walking tour with commentary, local enthusiasts will reveal aspects of the village of Sou-bise that are closely linked to the Charente Estuary: its medieval history, the landscaping projects at the Jardin des Convergences and the Vallon de la Fontaine des Morts, and the various ways of crossing the Charente.
Please bring your own cup, water, walking shoes and clothing suitable for walking and the day’s weather. Pets are not permitted.
Duration: estimated at 3½ hours
Free, but registration is compulsory
Walk organised by the Rochefort Océan Urban Community in partnership with the municipality of Soubise, the Soubisiennes Voluntary Gymnastics Association, Les Rêveurs du Temps and the Development Council.
Meet at Place Robert Chatelier (the square by the town hall and the church)
Sun: departures between 8.00 am and 11.00 am
Cross the Charente between Rochefort and Soubise aboard the ferry Le Rohan!
Sat and Sun from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm
