Heritage Days: the Protestant church

As a child, Julien Viaud regularly attended Sunday services with his Protestant family. “The very appearance of the church baffled me: a town church; new at the time, designed to be pretty, yet not daring to be too pretty.”

Built in 1821–1822 to plans by Félix Garde, architect to the City of Rochefort, the church underwent a curious redesign of its façade in 1825. Its true originality lies within, following the relocation of the pulpit in 1860.
