As a child, Julien Viaud regularly attended Sunday services with his Protestant family. ‘The very appearance of the church baffled me: a city church, new at the time, designed to be pretty without daring to be too pretty.’
Built in 1821-1822 according to plans by Félix Garde, architect of the City of Rochefort, the church underwent a curious renovation of its façade in 1825. Its originality lies in its interior, where the pulpit was moved in 1860.
