Inventing a character, telling his story

With Joachim Hérissé, writer of the comic book “Le Caillou”, shortlisted in the 8–10 years’ age category of the Bulles d’Océan comic book award.

Through the comic book 'Le caillou ', Joachim Hérissé, screenwriter, shares an intimate and sensitive story, where the autobiographical narrative mixes with a more universal reflection on memory, identity and transmission.

The workshop will begin with a presentation in images: Joachim Hérissé will offer a slide show retracing the genesis of this project, his creative journey as well as the stages of realization of the book. This time of exchange will be enriched by the screening of a teaser of the animated film currently in preparation, offering a new insight into the transition from the graphic universe to animation.

In a second phase, participants will take part in a writing activity. Inspired by the spirit of the comic strip, they will be invited to imagine and write a character: his story, his emotions, his frailties or his memories. This creative phase will allow us to explore the construction of a sensitive and authentic character, echoing the universe developed by the author.
