Inspired by the Japanese legend of Daïdarabotchi, a mythical giant whose every step shapes the world, Daïda takes us on a musical adventure where the epic breath meets the intimate. With La Traversée, the third chapter of its journey, the quintet pursues a powerful sound odyssey, between dreamlike landscapes, electric tensions and moments of contemplation. Led by drummer and composer Vincent Tortiller, winner of the National Jazz Competition in La Défense and hailed as a revelation by Jazz Magazine, Daïda embodies a new generation of French jazz. Her universe draws as much from post-bop as from progressive rock, electronic music or ambient, without ever losing the taste for storytelling and emotion.
The hypnotic pulsations, close to trance, carry vast collective impulses before giving way to lyrical flights where each instrument finds its voice. Electric and organic, powerful and sensitive, Daïda's music moves forward like a crossing: it crosses borders, mixing revolt and poetry, energy and softness, until taking the listener on a journey of rare intensity.
