Jazz Wednesdays invites you to (re)discover the village of L'Ile d'Aix.

On the programme:

2.30 pm: Guided tour of the village
During this guided tour of the fortified village, you’ll discover a charming maze of narrow streets lined with low-rise houses featuring colourful facades and shutters. In the summer months, hollyhocks fill the streets, lending the village a gentle, authentic atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely stroll. A fascinating tour to understand the military and historical role of this unique island, whilst enjoying the charm of a seaside village that has retained its authentic character.

4pm: Green Project “Matador”

These jazz mercenaries set out in the footsteps of the legendary guitarist Grant Green. The organist is an incredible musician who plays that infernal machine known as the Hammond B3 organ. The guitarist is marvellous in his interpretation of Green’s compositions, and the drummer, who is fantastic, gets this trio swinging. The music is both atmospheric and spellbinding, with a sound that is surprisingly and invigoratingly contemporary.
