These structures were listed as historic monuments in 1988 and 1989. Cleared of their dry-dock basins in the 1990s, they were restored to their former glory to support the refit of the frigate *L’Hermione* for nearly 20 years. Today, their innovative architecture can be fully appreciated, including the opportunity to descend into the double dry-dock.
Through a rich collection of photographs held at the Defence Historical Service in Rochefort, discover the slipways as they were when still in use.
