The MM Season is making a stopover at the Clos!
Since 2021, the MM Season has been travelling in Music and Movement to meet the inhabitants of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region. The musicians of the il Convito ensemble like to share with simplicity and communicative joy their favorite repertoire which is much too quickly called "classical music". The MM Orchestra, bringing together about thirty passionate amateur musicians, will join il Convito for a 2nd baroque part that will warm hearts and winter. Come and discover and share with us this musical evening as wonderful as it is festive!

The MM Season: a travelling season, musical events throughout the year

On the initiative of the ensemble il Convito and the musician Maude Gratton, the MM Season brings together a series of meetings and concerts organized in June and December, as an extension of the MM Festival, Festival of Music in Movement which is held every year in La Rochelle at the end of September.
In line with il Convito's artistic project, the MM Season forges links as close as possible to the inhabitants, explores the territory of Nouvelle-Aquitaine and promotes the discovery of baroque, classical and romantic music. The musical events are associated with the mediation projects carried out by il Convito.

The MM Amateur Orchestra

Created in 2022, the MM Amateur Orchestra is at the heart of the territorial projects defended by il Convito. It brings together about thirty amateur musicians, passionate about music, and welcomes newcomers throughout the year. Led by il Convito and directed by Maude Gratton, the project is open to all ages, all levels and all instruments. It is a solidarity and collective project that weaves strong links between different generations and artistic practices: making music together, as well as listening to each other and tuning in to others. There is a deep joy that results from this unifying mobilization that is anchored in time.

The Convito set

Founded in 2015 on chamber music based on the harpsichord, the pianoforte and the organ by Maude Gratton, the ensemble and orchestra il Convito explores the baroque, classical and romantic repertoires on historical instruments, as well as multidisciplinary projects crossing the arts and exploring creation. Il Convito is based in La Rochelle and carries out important work to establish a territory in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, through the MM Festival, the MM Season, the MM Amateur Orchestra and long-term projects developed with the priority districts of Charente-Maritime.

The artistic direction: Maude Gratton, musician from Niort

Born in Niort, Maude Gratton studied music in Poitiers and then at the CNSMD in Paris. Harpsichordist, organist, fortepianoist, she quickly became involved in the sharing of the arts and transmission. She created the ensemble il Convito in 2005; the structure dropped anchor in La Rochelle in 2015. She founded and directs several projects in Nouvelle-Aquitaine: the Musiques en Gâtine festival then the MM Festival (Festival de Musique en Mouvement à La Rochelle), the MM Travelling Season, the MM Amateur Orchestra, then the Il Convito Academy of Professional Integration. Maude was appointed in 2025 as professor of organ at the CNSMD in Paris. She is a member of the Collegium Vocale Gent directed by Philippe Herreweghe and plays as a soloist with several ensembles. She has recorded numerous albums with the Mirare and Outhere music labels.
