An explosive comedy by Feydeau freely adapted by Nathalie Bensard, this Barillon Marriage explodes with humour and irreverence social as well as theatrical conventions, to better underline the critical spirit of the play applied to the bourgeois society of its time, or even ours!

Barillon's Marriage begins with a marriage in due form: that of Barillon, an inveterate bachelor, and Aglaé, an innocent young girl, married authoritatively by her mother Frédégonde, whose character is most strong. As in all his plays, the author slips in a grain of sand here so that the whole machine comes to a halt, and a whirlwind of misunderstandings and madness comes to shake everything up. To bring the audience into this delirious spiral, the staging chooses to consider the spectators as the guests of the wedding and to give them a place of choice in the theatrical performance, as close as possible to the protagonists. Three acts follow one another, i.e. three immersive stage devices, crowned by a participatory final ball! Because everything is designed to make the performance a real time of sharing.

Nathalie Bensard does not forget to twist the patriarchal codes of Feydolian society to better reveal its flaws and absurdities, but also its persistence in our contemporary behaviors. On stage, the six performers cheerfully take us on a crazy ceremony, where the roles are reversed. The joyful troupe brings this social farce to life with boundless energy and jubilant precision. A choral interpretation, generous and committed, at the service of a theatre that is both festive and political.
