A landmark building of the 1970s, the block-style hospital was designed by architect Marc Quentin in a rationalist style, with bold vertical lines revealing the raw concrete structure and the grid of columns and beams on the façade. Left derelict since the hospital moved to the Béligon site, it stands out as a landmark and a vantage point over the city and its surroundings. Major works are underway to give it a new role in the city, accommodating a variety of uses; housing, offices and shops will be spread across the different levels of the tower block.

    A multi-narrative tour.
With Guillaume Lebigre from La Foncière de Charente Maritime, Arnaud Pradel from ETB, Joel Nissou, the project architect (subject to confirmation), and Régis Seuwin, Florence Dubois and Frédéric Chassebœuf, representing the City of Rochefort.
