Song : Again, the birds

Once again, the birds is a participatory musical piece composed by the singer-songwriter Tony Melvil for a hundred musicians and singers from Rochefort. A highlight both for our theatre and for the region because this project brings together many partners. A real artistic ode to birds showing how nature and culture are one. A joyful celebration that gives wings!

Once again, the birds is a participatory musical piece imagined by singer-songwriter Tony Melvil. At the crossroads of artistic creation, transmission and collective adventure, this show celebrates birds as symbols of freedom, movement and wonder.
Inspired by the many dialogues that the history of music maintains with their songs (from Clément Janequin to Mozart, from Messiaen to Erik Satie, from Albin de la Simone to Daft Punk), the work composes a true ode to nature, where culture and life respond in harmony. In Rochefort, a town facing the Charente estuary and its remarkable natural heritage, hosting this creation was an obvious choice. Between October 2026 and May 2027, a hundred amateur musicians, of all ages and backgrounds, will participate in creative workshops led by the Cie illimitée team under the direction of Tony Melvil, in connection with the city's associative, educational and social structures. Together, they will give birth to an original score, tailor-made for Rochefort.
After seducing the audience of La Coupe d'Or last season with En Apparence, Tony Melvil and his accomplices invite professional and amateur artists to share the stage in a joyful and unifying celebration. An exceptional XXL show, which gives wings!
