Author, screenwriter and illustrator Chadia Loueslati writes stories that blend humour, memory and freedom. Discovered through Famille nombreuse, she continues to explore the relationship between the personal and the social in her subsequent works, where irony rubs shoulders with lucidity. She is now back with a new comic book that is as funny as it is powerful: Liberté, égalité, s'émanciper (Freedom, Equality, Emancipation) (Éditions Marabout). Chadia tells her two daughters about the unequal education she and her sisters received from their mother. It was an injustice she fought against from her teenage years onwards, so that she could be treated as an equal to her brothers! Through this comic book, she celebrates those who dared to free themselves from constraints, assert their choices and claim their place. It is a deeply humanistic work that resonates with today's struggles for equality and the freedom to be oneself. With sensitivity and candour, Chadia Loueslati tackles essential themes: diversity, memory, transmission, but also the strength to assert oneself in the face of imposed views and frameworks.
An inspiring encounter, full of laughter, emotion and reflection, not to be missed!
The meeting will be followed by a book signing.
