Sisters is an abyssal dive into the story of Audrey and Victoria, two sisters who reunite after years of estrangement following the death of their mother. Immediately, words and emotions flood in: childhood grudges, unhealed family wounds and current anger burst forth in a cascade. Both are cruel, go beyond limits and pour what is on their hearts in each other's faces. To empty their bag of course, but also, perhaps, to re-establish the link and keep each other close to each other a little longer. It's terrible, heartbreaking, often funny.

The language of Sisters unfolds, musical, precise, repetitive, haunting, anchored in our present; it leads us to take on the violence of one and the despair of the other. As a true conductor, shaping their voices, their right breaths, their tempos, their silences, the author and director brilliantly directs these two magnetic performers. Through this dialogue of implacable precision, Pascal Rambert explores blood ties, intimate fractures, thwarted love and the impossibility of saying before it is too late.
