From the canteen to the toilets, from the changing rooms to the playground, each space becomes the scene of the friendships, rivalries, metamorphoses and secrets that shape adolescence. Away from the gaze of adults, the students evolve in a world governed by implicit laws, often crueler than the school's rules, where everyone seeks their place in the face of the group's injunctions. Throughout this choral chronicle, harassment imposes itself as a common thread, revealing the mechanisms of domination, the violence of prejudice, but also the outpourings of solidarity that can change destinies.
With a lively, funny and incisive writing, Marcos Caramés-Blanco captures the contradictions of an age when everything seems to be at stake. Under the direction of Nathalie Bensard, four young performers from the Regional School of Actors in Cannes-Marseille recreate the multiple spaces of the school with great inventiveness from a minimal stage device composed of a few tables and school benches. Their energy, their commitment and the fluidity with which they embody a gallery of characters give all its strength to this staging. Between humor and gravity, Teen Play offers a sensitive and uncompromising look at these decisive years when we learn to build ourselves in front of the gaze of others.
