The story takes place in Aigues-Mortes, a town in the Petite Camargue in the south of France, behind the scenes of a palace.

Six young employees work there. As the seasons pass by in this Hôtel de la Tour, their dreams of promotion, their love stories and the demands of their customers mingle on a daily basis, revealing the tensions and ambitions of a youth who is looking for a future that suits their desires. With humour and delicacy, even taking on stints in musicals, Guillaume Vincent mixes banter and reflection on the ambiguity of human relationships and desire, between hopes and constrained realities. The shadow of the fortified walls of the Tower of Constance (which was a lighthouse, before becoming a prison for Protestant women after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685) acts here as a metaphor for a confinement stemming from a certain social determinism. The author and director directs with finesse the six young actors from the eleventh class of the Ecole supérieure d'art dramatique du Théâtre national de Bretagne, in Rennes, for whom the play was specially written. Their direct, sincere, generous acting, as well as their natural presence already testify to a great maturity in telling the emotions and aspirations of a generation in the making, to which they also belong.
