Guided tour: Mma African figurines from Côte d'Ivoire

Brought back from Côte d’Ivoire at the end of the 19th century by the naval officer Anselme Bellot, the three Mma statuettes were added to the collections of the Musée Hèbre following a donation made after his death in 1911. Crafted by skilled potters, they are displayed as part of funeral rites. Both works of art and objects of worship, they invite us to gain a deeper understanding of Agni culture.
