Born in Switzerland, Stefan Kinsman grew up in Costa Rica and first collaborated with several circus troupes in Central America as a juggler and acrobat, before training at the CNAC in Châlons-en-Champagne. After working with Mathurin Bolze and Jérôme Thomas, Stefan Kinsman continued his artistic path as a solo artist towards a circus with a theatrical dramaturgy that is always chiseled.
In Ode to Softness, body and material dialogue in a delicate, elegant choreography, where each movement seems to defy the laws of balance to better reveal the fragility of our condition. More than an apparatus, the Cyr wheel becomes a partner, a landscape, a horizon. Stefan Kinsman even makes us forget the technical prowess required to set the accessory in motion, making softness the central point of the composition of this creation. The light dwindles, silence settles in, the audience is as close as possible to the artist. This is the beginning of a sensitive, deeply intimate journey, where the senses are awakened. Between suspension, gravity and weightlessness, the show composes a sensory experience that touches as much as it amazes.
