In the museum area :
- General presentation of the protected area
- Land protection, which is often the first step in the conservation of species and habitats.
- Hydraulic management in the nature reserve increases the attractiveness of the site for bird species (waders, larids, ducks).
- The maintenance of open spaces through grazing makes it possible to preserve feeding areas for grazing species (Whistling Duck, Greylag Goose, etc.).
- Regulations are absolutely essential for the conservation of species and habitats. Each visitor is invited to be aware of this and to adopt eco-citizen gestures.
- The nature reserve participates in scientific research by developing activities to monitor bird populations: for example, ringing under the aegis of the Centre de Recherches et de Baguage des Populations d'Oiseaux (CRBPO-Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle de Paris), a partnership with the LIENSS laboratory at the University of La Rochelle (isotope and genetic analysis). The visitor can learn about ringing through several routes of individuals of the Black-tailed Godwit species.
- A theme that highlights the importance of environmental education and encourages the visitor to discover nature protection jobs through eco-volunteering.
The system is completed by a temporary exhibition room, according to seasonal programming, and a shop.
During guided tours, the reception area may be closed.
Outside of these periods, the guides practice educational raiding and are there to inform visitors.
