Exhibition: Plant Odyssey

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Bégonia d'Or studio, Sylvie Deschamps asked artist-photographer Sophie Zénon to design a joint summer exhibition at her studio. Sylvie and Sophie met in May 2024, to celebrate the anniversary of the national Maîtres d'Art / Élèves scheme. It was the first attempt at a dialogue between their respective skills, where the cyanotype print met the wisp of cannetille. It was a conclusive and stimulating experience, opening up a whole new range of possibilities and inspiring the desire to continue the adventure.

For this exhibition, Sophie Zénon presents a herbarium extracted from ‘L'HERBE AUX YEUX BLEUS’, a research project carried out with botanist François Vernier in Lorraine on obsidional plants, plants unknowingly introduced by foreign armies during periods of conflict, thus approaching the history of human migration from an innovative angle.
