Initiated by Manaelle Cobra, Montoridot is an open-air theatre festival that also welcomes other performing arts. The festival's troupe performs and stages both classical and contemporary repertoires, as well as original works. As a venue for artistic expression, the festival collaborates with musicians, directors, dancers, improvisers and all kinds of artists. All forms of theatrical expression are welcome, as long as they offer a baroque, offbeat or poetic experience.

With an eclectic and family-friendly programme that is both popular and demanding, Montoridot aims to bring together both theatre enthusiasts and those who are not necessarily accustomed to going to the theatre, welcoming spectators from all walks of life. And in the spirit of cultural democratisation, all shows are pay-what-you-want.

Every year, the festival takes place in a friendly atmosphere, conducive to sharing and exchange between artists and spectators (during artistic workshops open to the public, informal discussions at the refreshment bar, etc.). The first two editions provided opportunities for many encounters – between Parisians and Brazéens, between Rochefortais and Griphoriens – and organisers and festival-goers came away full of energy for the next edition.

Our programme is designed to be family-friendly, popular and challenging in equal measure. While our shows are suitable for all ages, younger audiences will be treated to our adaptation of Alice in Wonderland on Thursday 26 August and Albatros on Friday 27!
