Loti in Egypt, report.
In 1907, Loti undertook a trip to Egypt, which he recounted in a series of articles for Le Figaro, later compiled into a book entitled ‘The Death of Philae’. The Egypt of the early 20th century that Loti describes is a country torn between the grandeur of its past and the decadence of its modernity, overrun by ‘tourists’.
Musical reading with tour guide Maryse Vila-Cornellas accompanied by musician Nessim Bismuth (vocals, flute, percussion).
