Concert : The Crooked Nails

A thumping double bass, a growling guitar, a whistling harmonica… and chains, wood and metal clanging together to set the rhythm. The Crooked Nails play raw, lively and unpretentious blues-folk.

Formed in 2020 around Roméo on double bass and Laurent on vocals, guitars and percussion, the duo naturally became a trio with the arrival of Olivier on harmonicas and percussion.

Inspired by North American ‘old-time’ music, the three musicians draw on the blues, folk and early rock ’n’ roll to create their own unique sound. It is music in which improvisation, camaraderie and emotion play an essential role.

From the vast American landscapes to those closer to home, their music takes you on a journey: here, the deserts are called Aubrac and the canyons the Gorges de la Truyère…
