It is a kind-hearted work that celebrates the tolerance of childhood.
Hichem and Marie have been inseparable since they met, sharing their deepest secrets in the playground. But how can you recount everything you've been through? A political refugee, Hichem begins to tell the story of his epic journey, from fleeing the war to arriving in Europe. Accompanied by a text written and recorded by Aurélie Namur, a dancer and an acrobat embody the two children in an acrodance duet with movements as raw as they are virtuosic. Their danced exchange is complemented by illustrations by Anaïs Massini, giant drawings executed live by the two performers.
Already well known for her socially engaged creations combining dance and text, choreographer Florence Bernad returns with this luminous show, in which movement allows issues related to migration to be addressed from a child's perspective. The colourful atmosphere and naively beautiful drawings envelop the tragedy in a veil of gentleness, creating the right distance from the harshness of the themes addressed. An educational play, but never didactic, which recounts the extremes of a migrant child's life and simply encourages us to put ourselves in someone else's shoes.
