  • Fort Lupin, completed in 1689, is one of the elements of the defensive system to control and defend the access to the Naval Dockayrd of Rochefort.
Vauban had developed a small fort combining the advantages of a semi-circular low battery that
made it possible to carry out grazing shots in the chains of the ships and a tower which also made it possible to carry out plunging shooting of musketry to sweep the deck of the ships.

Classified as a historic monument, Fort Lupin is a private property and can only be visited during scheduled guided tours.
