Their paths first crossed in 2010 in drummer Daniel Humair's quartet. Since then, they have formed what is probably one of the most extraordinary variable-geometry formations in European jazz, winning numerous awards, including five Victoires
    awards between them.
With Abrazo, Coup de cœur de l'Académie Charles-Cros in 2021, these two virtuosos and great accomplices, soprano saxophonist Émile Parisien and accordionist Vincent Peirani, invite jazz and tango to the hottest of embraces. This concert is an intense jazz celebration of the music of South America. Starting, inevitably, with Astor Piazzolla's tango. The duo magnify its elegance, melancholy and rhythmic and melodic power, transposed here into an impressive jazz synchronicity.
What unites all these different elements is their deep affinity and the incredible finesse of their interactions. Their exceptionally innovative approach to their instruments, their boundless inventiveness and their desire for adventure seem insatiable and constitute their signature.
In total musical symbiosis, the two artists sublimate this music that is as learned as it is carnal, as demanding as it is popular. On stage, the humour of the two musicians adds to the magic of the moment.
