The Rochefort-based company Pyramid, whose inventive, generous and accessible hip-hop dance has been delighting audiences in our region for more than twenty-five years, needs no introduction.
Their latest creation, Macéra, which means 'adventure' in Turkish, takes us on a choreographic odyssey for seven dancers, where each step opens up a new horizon. Inspired by tales of exploration, memories of tours around the world and the world of Pierre Loti, this show celebrates the encounter between
with elsewhere as an invitation to better discover oneself. Carried by a dance that mixes hip-hop, contemporary influences and world traditions, the performers draw a vibrant language. In addition to the communicative energy of the choreography, there is a burlesque humour and a strong taste for the manipulation of objects, diverted and reinvented over the course of the journey, true trademarks of the company. Accompanied by a musical creation with electro and oriental accents, this sensitive fresco explores with inspiration the links between travel, sharing and the quest for identity.
