    Chief Architect of Historic Monuments Olivier Salmon will explain his role and guide you through the architecture of the Hôtel de Cheusses and its unique features.

    Guided tours: ‘The Hôtel d’Amblimont: between courtyard and garden’
    Saturday, at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm
    The museum and the Heritage Department are offering you exceptional access to the Hôtel d’Amblimont, between the courtyard and the garden. Named in honour of the Countess of Amblimont when King Louis XV gifted it to her, this building housed the General Command in the 19th and 20th centuries, which oversaw the administrative functions of the arsenal. Julien Viaud, alias Pierre Loti, was posted there on several occasions during his career.

    Sunday at 10.30 am and 11.30 am – 15 minutes
    Based on reproductions of plans, drawings, photographs and manuscripts held at the Defence Historical Service in Rochefort.
