                            Freely inspired by real events and Géricault's famous painting exhibited at the Louvre in 1819, the story of ‘L'oubliée du Radeau de la Méduse’ (The Forgotten Woman of the Raft of the Medusa) recounts the epic tale of the survivors of the frigate, which left Rochefort on 17 June 1816 and ran aground on 2 July on the Arguin Bank, off the coast of Mauritania.
