Metal since the 1970s has been infused into everyday cultural objects. The first concerts, which took place in bars and pubs, quickly found an echo in darts and especially pinball machines. With the rise of video games and their democratization in the 1980s, metal culture was used as a source of imagination. But it was mainly the 1990s that integrated metal culture into all video game spheres, to the point of creating games for enthusiasts. The conference will allow us to trace the interstices between the digital and metal communities and to question the future of these intimately linked communities.
Two consoles will be set up throughout the afternoon, with metal games to experience.
From 2 pm to 6 pm: Game experiments / 4 pm: Conference
As part of the exhibition "All is not dark: Metal from life to death".
