In the first part, we will learn to observe and understand the interplay of light and shadow through practical experiments. We will see how the intensity and direction of light influence volume and shadows. We will also study artificial light sources, such as lamps, candles and spotlights, and discuss artistic effects such as chiaroscuro, coloured light and reflections.
In the second part, we will learn about chiaroscuro by creating a simple still life. We will learn how to find the colour of shadows and light by mixing our own colours from the primary colours (acrylic or watercolour).
