This moving epic questions the place of the father and family models over four generations. Somewhere between fiction and life story, theatre and puppetry, young director Simon Delattre draws on his own experience of fatherhood to question the ties of blood and those of the heart.
The project was inspired by Simon Delattre's grandfather, who led a crazy and fascinating life. By turns a film actor, wrestler, showman and racing driver, he became the father of three children in the fifties and sixties. Each time outside his official marriage.
Simon Delattre crosses this colourful family history with his own recent experience of fatherhood since the birth of his twin daughters, who were born on the other side of the Atlantic under GPA, thus questioning the role of father based on his own genealogy spanning almost a century.
He is joined by Mike Kenny, a leading British playwright for young people, who questions family models that do not fit into the social norms of their time. Together they blend fact and fiction around the character of Enki, a little girl in search of her origins. This sensitive, romantic family fresco, performed by seven actors, alternates dialogue scenes, live music and visual narration to shake up established ideas.
