In four episodes, we discover the childhood of Camille (girl or boy), alias Miro, as this ‘cross-eyed’ child grows up, from birth to her first loves at the age of fourteen. In four episodes, we discover the childhood of Camille (girl or boy), alias Miro, as this ‘cross-eyed’ child grows up, from birth to her first loves at the age of fourteen. By experiencing life subjectively, through her blurred vision, her failures, her falls and her clumsiness, we become aware of what everyday life is like for a visually impaired child. We then better understand the feeling of injustice and the spirit of rebellion that inhabit them. The poetic, funny and touching narration, carried by the voice of an actress enriched by a nuanced soundscape, accurately explores the issue of visual impairment.
Written and directed by Nathalie Bensard, who brought us Les Filles ne sont pas des poupées de chiffon last season, the show offers an intimate glimpse into Miro's inner world, between memories, silences and emotions. Through its bold and minimalist staging, this atypical form invents a different relationship with theatre, relying on the evocative power of sound and the active participation of the audience, who are invited to express themselves between each episode and thus become real partners in the story. A collective, inclusive and deeply human theatrical experience that allows us to hear in a different way what we cannot always see.
