    An elegant silhouette spanning the Charente at Martrou, between Rochefort and Échillais, France's last remaining transporter bridge proudly assumes its role as ambassador for the Grand Site de France. To welcome the ever-growing number of visitors, it needed a building that respected its unique character and the particularly sensitive site where it is located. Built on stilts, the "Les Terrasses du Transbordeur" building is made of metal and offers a unique view of the monument and the surrounding landscape.
