Theatre : Le Songe

Gwenaël Morin takes Shakespeare's comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream and directs it with just six actors (sharing twelve roles). A great success at the 2023 Avignon Festival, this pared-down version shines through in its joyful simplicity.
It's the story of Helena who loves Demetrius, who loves Hermia, who loves and is loved by Lysander... Summed up in this way, the plot of this play could evoke an episode of a soap opera. But it was written by William Shakespeare in 1594 and is still one of the most beautiful works on the omnipotence of desire.
Renowned for his spirited adaptations of the great classics, Gwenaël Morin has created a version for six actors, a few elements of set and props, infused with the power of desire.
