Alice falls asleep on a lawn next to her sister, who is reading a book. Somewhere between dream and reality, she spots a white rabbit. He's in a hurry, he's talking, he's late. She follows him down the rabbit hole and... We all know the story of Alice in Wonderland: she grows, she shrinks, she meets animals and objects that talk, and a terrible Queen of Hearts. It's a story that has become a classic.
In this version adapted by Florence Nicolle (favourite actress of the famous street theatre company Les 26 000 Couverts), Alice is no longer young. She's an old lady now, who loves to reminisce about that beautiful summer afternoon when she had an unusual adventure, full of magic, with roses that change colour, a caterpillar that smokes and a cat that smiles. Carried away by her enthusiasm and her desire to tell the story, Alice recaptures the candour of her ten years and takes us with her to the far reaches of her dreams, embodying all the strange characters she met at the time. Florence Nicolle has created a slightly madcap version of Lewis Carroll's masterpiece.
Her cheeky Alice is brimming with invention, poetry and humour. Especially when, as a finale, she gives an improbable demonstration of K-pop! Exuberant and free, this revisitation will have youngsters dreaming and parents and grandparents rejoicing.
