Funny, hard-hitting, with just the right amount of libertine streak, and as motley as they were musically inventive, this sunny group projected the image of a diverse country, at ease with itself, onto the airwaves and the screen.

Twenty years ago, Féfé made his name as part of the Saïan Supa Crew with the dazzling success of the single Angela, taken from the first KLR album (1999). Funny, hard-hitting, with just the right amount of libertine streak, and as motley as they were musically inventive, this sunny group projected the image of a diverse country, at ease with itself, onto the airwaves and the screen.
After splitting up in 2008, Féfé released his first solo album, Jeune à la retraite, in 2009, which went gold. He then returned to the stage where he had made such a name for himself with his former group. Once again it was a success, and he was booked to play at all the major festivals, winning over the public. He then went on to collaborate with a host of other artists, including K'Naan on the French version of Wavin' Flag, the official Coca-Cola anthem of the football World Cup, released in May 2010. He then released two more solo albums, Le Charme des premiers jours (2013) and Mauve (2017), on which he collaborated with -M-, Tété, Ayo, Orelsan and Indee Styla.
In 2019, he released the album 365 jours, a duet with Leeroy, a former member of Saïan Super Crew with whom he had continued to collaborate over the years (notably on the tribute album Fela is the Future, released in 2017). They also invited trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf and Californian soul singer Aloe Blacc to take part in the project.
Today, Féfé is refocusing on his solo career, joining Wagram Stories' Chapter Two Records label for his 4th solo album. Produced by Bastien Doremus (Christine and the Queens, Clara Lucianni), Lazy Flow (Meryl, Les Soirées La Créole) and Felipe Saldivia (Idir, Orelsan), with feats including the brilliant American soulman Son Little, the album already promises to be the most inspired of his career. Scheduled for release in early 2024!
